Capital Campaign
"One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts." - Psalm 145:4
In 2020, Lutheran High School successfully completed the largest building expansion in school history. The addition included a 600-seat performing arts theater, music classrooms, state-of-the-art robotics lab, renovated science wing, and a beautiful atrium to welcome all guests to the school. More than 400 donors raised over $4.7 million for this endeavor. With a 99% pledge fulfillment rate, this was the most ambitious and most successful capital campaign in LHS history. Thanks be to God for the generous supporters who made this dream a reality!

IN THEIR OWN WORDS
"'Get the shovel!' was our response as Lutheran High's Executive Director visited our congregation just a few years ago. After many decades, LHS was moving forward with a grand plan of expansion. Our family has been fortunate to benefit directly from the Worship and Fine Arts Center. Our oldest son started his four year band career in the old 'corner lot' in the back of the building. The new music area, along with the stage, provided Ben with opportunities that we never could have dreamed for him and others.
Our other three sons have been able to use the new areas to grow as well. David, currently a junior, has enjoyed the expanded offering of robotics and the new science labs. Our two youngest, Joe and Nate, have been using the Performing Arts Center as SALSA band students. Weekly band rehearsals are now in the new music room, and concerts are on the beautiful stage instead of taking their concerts 'on the road.' Additionally, Nate has fed his dramatic flare by being able to participate in the expanded LHS musical productions that welcomed student auditions from the grade schools. If you build it, God will bless it!" |
"The drama students at Lutheran High have consistently given their all over the decades to produce quality productions, despite the lack of rehearsal space, technical obstacles and time constraints with set building. The new Performing Arts Center has breathed new life into our productions; we are able to create a final product worthy of months of preparation.
Our technical design and art students flourish with the time and freedom they now have to create mood and atmosphere on a higher level. The actors now have a dedicated space to rehearse. It enables those students who want to pursue a career in the arts to get a feel for performing on a professional level. The Performing Arts Center has afforded us so many new opportunities. We are blessed!" |
