Volunteerism
There are so many different ways to give to LHS with your heart, hands, and feet. Call us to tell you more about our Crusader Club (our parentally controlled fundraising organization) and other ways you can help out. We sincerely appreciate the heart and service of all our volunteers.
Annual Fund
The greatest need that LHS has is annual operating funds. LHS’s annual operating budgets depend on over 30% of Third Source funding. Moreover, the more dollars that are given to our annual fund, the less monies need to be raised through tuition. Lutheran High needs and appreciates all gifts of any size. Thank you for remembering our daily ministry needs and making a difference!
Crusader Activities Endowment
The earnings from this endowment provide funding for LHS’s co-curriculars such as athletics, music, and drama, but especially the co-curricular activities dedicated to the outreach and Christian leadership development (i.e. praise band, mission trips, service projects, leadership seminars, motivational speakers, bible studies, etc.). Gifts to this fund will allow more students to partake in Christian leadership development activities and character-building experiences beyond the normal classroom expectations and curriculum requirements at LHS.
Friends of Taproot Endowment
The earnings from this endowment are used to cover the expenses of the annual Taproot luncheon as well as to support the mission of the Taproot Club. That mission is to help raise money for the daily operating costs and expenses of LHS.
Leaders for Life Endowment (Student Aid Scholarships)
This is LHS’s largest and longest standing endowment fund. The earnings from this fund are primarily used to offer scholarship assistance to families and students in need. Indeed, this endowment represents LHS’s best effort to keep a Christian education affordable for most families in the Greater Sheboygan Area. Gifts to this fund allow us to reach out to more families and students who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial constraints. Over the years, many special supporters of LHS have left memorials, legacy gifts, family donations, and estate gifts to this fund.
Emily Hughes Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship has been set in memory of Lutheran High alum, Emily Hughes. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the memory of Emily and to provide a scholarship for Catholic students attending Lutheran High School.
Katherine Marie Immel Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship has been set in memory of Lutheran High alum, Katherine (Katie) Marie Immel. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the memory of Katie and to provide an annual amount of $1,500 to an incoming freshman of Lutheran High.
The Katie Immel scholarship recipient will be selected based on several criteria: grades, participation in sports, and financial need. Katie was a good student who participated in cross country, basketball and track. The opportunity to be a part of these teams throughout her high school career helped her develop into a confident young woman who went on to run cross country in college. Katie's family would like to be able to assist a student who understands the importance of getting good grades but balances academic excellence with the growth opportunity that participating in sports can bring.
Katie's family will be involved in the final decision making process on who will receive the annual scholarship.
Charles Benedum Student Mentor & Athletic Endowment Fund
In honor of the man who has been the face of Lutheran High for nearly three decades, the earnings from this endowment provide financial scholarships to families and individual students who require significassistance and funds to maintain, supplement, and enhance Lutheran High athletic programs.
