Arts S.C.R.E.A.M. stands for Service, Creative Response, Experience, Arts, and Mission. It is a high school art club involving students in five different areas of Arts Center life: exhibitions, education, administration, Arts/Industry, and performing arts. Students' connection with the Arts Center would have three components in each area: experience, service, and creative response. Experience is like a guided tour of an exhibition, job shadow or interview with administration, or attending a performance. The students' service comes from setting up for the Holiday Continental, ushering for a performance, or helping with a weekend workshop. Students have creative responses when they attend workshop with arts/industry artist, develop a lesson plan or a gallery game, prepare an audio advertisement or an Arts Center program on the high school radio station.
Joining this group has many advantages. Arts S.C.R.E.A.M. makes valuable connections between young people and JMKAC (John Michael Kohler Arts Center), helps young adults explore careers in the arts, develops outlets for incorporating the arts into more young lives, stretch imaginations, provide opportunities for service, and provide safe and positive outlets for creativity and exploration.
